The Foundation for Local Needy is a registered 501© 3 organization dedicated to helping local Muslims including widows, single parents, refugees, reverts and families that may have come upon hard times, living in dire conditions in our midst right here in our backyard. Families whose sole bread earner is suffering from a chronic medical condition, widows or divorcees struggling to feed and educate kids with no direct source of income and families where both husband and wife are working hard but unable to make ends meet due to economic circumstances and challenges specific to each family. Oftentimes, their situation is known only to a handful of people and the assistance they get may fall far short of what they need to live with dignity.

 The Foundation differs from other organization on the basis of helping few but with quality support. Time and again, we come to know of families in the community that are struggling to meet their needs. Community members do not know this and think poor in the community are taken care by the charities they donate to. The fact is, these families fall through the crack either because the families are unable to reach some of these national Muslim charity organizations or these organizations miss out on them with the sheer volume of applications they receive. And at other times, the amount of support they receive is dismal. If a single mom needs $3K to $4K to run her family. Giving her $1K does not solve the problem. That is why our motto is to provide quality support to these families.
